A
& I Park-The
most developed of six canoe launck sites along
the Red Cedar River, this is the place to
picnic and take a break from paddling. This
spot is also known for its excellent smallmouth
bass fishing. Take Hwy. 53 to the Chetek exit.
Turn west on Cty. I and travel 5 1/2 miles
to Cty. A Continue 3/4 of a mile on the combination
of I and A. The park will be just east of
the Red Cedar River bridge. Picnic tables,
outhouses, boat landing.
Anglers
Park-Cast your
line here for walleye and panfish in this
day use park developed especilly for shore
anglers. The fishing pier is handicapped accessible.
From the city of Chetek, follw Cty. SS one
mile north to the junction with Cty. D. Follow
D through the intersection with Cty. M for
one mile to the west end of the Pokegama Lake
bridge. Picnic tables, outhouses, boat landing.
Desair
Boat Landing-Boat landing on Desair
Lake. Exit Hwy. 53 onto Hwy. 48. Take Hwy.
48 1 1/4 miles to 18th Street. Then turn north
and continue 2 1/4 miles to 23 1/4 Ave. Travel
east 1/4 mile to boat landing. Boat landing
only.
Grant
Park-Silver Lake's fine sand and
clear waters make Grant Park a popular swimming
spot. Other day use activities include baseball,
volleyball, a playground and picnicking. Exit
Hwy. 53 onto Hwy. 48. go west three miles
to County V. Turn north and continue four
mlies to County B. Go west 4 1/2 miles to
the park. Picnic tables, picnic shelter, outhouses,
swimming, beach, baseball, volleyball, playground,
boat landing.
Kirby
Boat Landing- Though primarily used
for lake access, walk-in camping is available
for the primitive camper. Kirby Lake, known
for its excellent supply of pan fish, is fished
year round. From the junction of Hwy. 63 and
48 in Cumberland, travel 4 1/2 miles north
on 63 to 26 1/2 Ave. Turn west and go 2 miles
to 4th st. Turn north and proceed 3/4 mile
to 27 1/2 Ave. Tuen east and continue to the
landing. Picnic tables, outhouses, tent sites,
boat landing
Southworth Memorial Park-Located
on the Chetek chain of lakes, noted for excellent
fishing, the park offers camping in a more
residential setting. Exit Hwy. 53 at Chetek.Travel
east on County I to County SS.Turn south and
go 1 1/2 miles to 26 1/2 Street.Turn north
and go 1/4 mile to 5 1/2 -7 street. Go west
1/2 mile to the park. Picnic tables.outhouses,
tent sites, trailer sites, swimming and boat
landing.
Veterans
Memorial Park-Pitch a tent or park
a trailer in one of the 30 wooded sites in
the most quiet campground in Barron County.
The park is located on Prairie Lake, part
of the Chetek chain of lakes, noted for excellent
fishing. Exit Hwy. 8 from Hwy. 53.Travel east
one mile to t County SS. Turn south and go
3/4 mile to 12 3/4 Ave. Then turn east and
go 3/4 mile.
Waldo
Carlson Park-Anlers flock to this
park to fish Red Cedar lake known as the top
walleye lake in Barron County. 23 sites are
available for campers. Exit Hwy. 53 to Hwy.
48 in Rice lake. Travel east for 13 miles
to 29th Ave.. Turn east and go 1/4 mile to
park. Picnic tables, outhouses, tent sites,
trailer sites and boat landing.
