Camp
New Wood Recreation Area-The
Wisconsin River and four miles of the Ice
Age Trail run through this area. Eight campsites
are available and picnic areas are equipped
with grills. Take Hwy. 107 north from Merril
about eight miles to the park. Picnic tables,
picnic shelter, outhouses, tent sites, trailer
sites, hiking, playground, boat landing.
Hay
Meadow Wayside-This
wayside is used by area residents for picnicking
and by weary travelers resting. Take Hwy.
17 north from Merrill 10 miles. Turn left
on Old 17. Picnic tables, outhouses.
Otter
lake Recreation Area-A
series of old logging roads now used for hiking
winds through this hilly, isolated park on
Otter lake. The quiet park has 25 campsites,
grills, cross-country skiing, swimming, beach,
boat landing. Take Hwy. 51 north from Merrill
Cty. S and go east. Follow S to Town Hall
Road and continue east to Grundy Road. Go
north on Grundy Road to Bear Trail Road, and
east on Bear Trail Road to Otter Lake Road.
Picnic tables, outhouses, tent sites, trailer
sites, swimming, beach, dressing rooms, hiking,
nature trails, cross-country skiing, boat
landing.
Tug
Lake Recreation Area-This
area has a sand swimming beach, picnic area
with shelter and grills, and a playground.
From Merrill take Cty. K north 7 1/2 miles
to Tug Lake Road. Picnic tables, picnic shelter,
outhouses, swimming, beach, dressing rooms,
playground.
