




Pike Lake State Park
Pike Lake State Park is located in Washington County between Slinger and Hartford on Highway 60. Turn south into the park on Kettle Moraine Drive. The park is open year-round from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Camping is available at Pike Lake from early April through the third weekend in October. Pike Lake has a family campground and three backpack campsites. At the Sunrise Campground there are 32 campsites and eleven have electricity. Pike Lake has three backpack campsites along the Ice Age Trail.
There are two shelters at Pike Lake that can be reserved for group activities. The north shelter has capacity for 100 and electricity. The south shelter has capacity for 30, has electricity and flush toilets.
There are seven trails in the park from one half mile to two miles in length. There are cross-country ski trails and the Ice Age Trail also winds through the park.
Recreation and activities include hiking, camping, picnicking, canoeing, boating, kayaking, fishing, hunting, trapping and cross-country skiing.

Camping in Wisconsin
Campgrounds in Wisconsin are as varied as the areas around them--there are forests, prairies, lakes, rivers, hills, and valleys. You'll find campgrounds, trails, historic and archaeological sites, places for solitude and places for large group gatherings. There are also Campgrounds in county parks, state parks and national forests.
A typical campsite is in a natural setting with road access, a fire ring, and a picnic table, and can be used by either vehicle or tent campers. But there also are backpack, walk-in, and canoeing -in sites, sites with electrical hookups, and sites designed specifically for either tent or vehicle campers.

National Forest - The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest is located in Wisconsin's Northwoods, covering over a million and a half acres. The Chequamegon side of the forest covers about 858,400 acres in Ashland, Bayfield, Sawyer, Price, Taylor, and Vilas counties while the Nicolet side covers nearly 661,400 acres in Florence, Forest, Langlade, Oconto, Oneida, and Vilas counties.
